A guide to care and its costs

Growth hormone telehealth. Get your bearings.

Looking into care can feel like a lot. Start with what is being offered. Then ask what the whole plan will cost.

What condition would the medicine treat?

Telehealth is a visit with a health professional from a distance, using a video call, a phone call, or online messages.

FDA is the short name of the US medicine review agency, the Food and Drug Administration.

FDA approval tells you that an exact medicine product was reviewed and accepted to treat a named condition, as of September 2026.

Somatropin is human growth hormone; in the US, it has FDA-approved products as of September 2026.

US law as of September 2026 allows growth hormone to be supplied only for an approved medical use with a doctor’s prescription.

Supplied means sold or handed over to someone. This rule concerns the person or pharmacy providing the medicine.

This guide does not list the conditions each product is approved to treat. Ask the doctor to name the condition being considered. Ask where that condition appears in the medicine’s approved uses. Keep the medicine name and the doctor’s answer beside the price.

Bring the whole bill into view.

Request the price in writing, with a separate line for the visit, tests, medicine, and later care. Find out what is included and what might be charged apart.

For insurance, ask about the named medicine and the medical reason for it. If paying without insurance, ask what repeats after the first visit.

There is no need to settle every question at once. Start with the part that is unclear.

Take the question a little further.
